Anti-Semitism has been present in Europe for many centuries. A natural point of focus would be the period between the rise to power by the Nazi party in 1933 and the end of the Second World War in 1945. The events of the Holocaust resulted in the genocide of six million Jews killed by Nazi Germany. The Holocaust was the outcome of racist and anti-Semitic policies that were implemented in Germany by the Nazis and then carried out in countries that they occupied. In this course we will explore the history of Ant-Semitism in Europe and the experience of Jewish people who lived in the Third Reich from the French Atlantic coastline to the gates of Moscow.
