Northern Ireland is now a place where people have come to build new lives.  English is essential as they seek to integrate and for employment.  People across Northern Ireland want to change the lives of newly arrived adults by volunteering to help them to learn English.  This course introduces principles, resources and techniques for providing English in a community setting.  The course aims to develop the knowledge and understanding of the English language needs of adult migrants, refugees and asylum seekers; to introduce some resources and teaching techniques which are appropriate for teaching English language to adult migrants, refugees and asylum seekers and to prepare participants for the design, documentation and delivery of English language teaching suitable for the needs of adult migrants, refugees and asylum seekers in their community.
