David Tierney, BA, MA
New Year 2024
A one-day workshop on Saturday 27 January, 10.00 am to 4.00 pm
According to Francis Bacon the 17th Century English philosopher: Some books are to be tasted, some to be swallowed and some to be chewed on and digested. In this course we examine your reading style and through an innovative set of exercises look at ways that you can read more efficiently and effectively. Understanding the effects of reading on the brain can not only help us retain information easier but also increase our reading enjoyment. It will also give you some practical advice on how you decide as Bacon outlined, those books worthy of a quick read, those to be read thoroughly and those to be read slowly and thoughtfully.
