1483: Roses, Murder, and a Car Park (LIVE ONLINE COURSE)
[OLE3315]

Steve Flanders, BA, MA PhD

New Year 2025

10 weekly sessions on Thursdays 10.00 am to 12.00 noon, starting 23 January

This is a cold-case investigation focusing on events in 1483.  Its background is England’s hundred-years’ war with France in the 14th and 15th centuries, and the subsequent internal faction fighting now known as the Wars of the Roses.  Its focus will be the reigns of Edward IV, Richard III and Henry VII, the succession to the throne and the disappearance and alleged murder of the Princes in the Tower.  It will examine the new evidence unearthed by the Missing Princes Project and reconsider the accepted post-Bosworth story taught in schools of the ‘evil nephew-killing’ Richard and the ‘rightful heir’ Henry Tudor who ended medieval society and took England into the early-modern era.  The course will use an evidence-based approach and analysis to present a new interpretation of the history of this period.
